What Angela W doesn't like about The Sun:
Sorry to comment Mothering Sunday lunch was disappointing, meal was average, not to standard we've experienced before at the olde sun when we've been for Sunday lunch. View all feedback.
We booked the Olde Sun for my Dad’s wake which by virtue of what it is felt like one booking you never want to go wrong, but I need not have worried. Upon booking, Sean talked me through how it would work and reassured me it would all go perfectly and it did. We were welcomed with a drink and/or tea and coffee and everything was ready in the private lower bar. The buffet was tasty and varied, good quality and generous. Sean and his team really looked after us and our guests well, even down to parking. I am really grateful and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.
Visited with my family for my nan 's 88th birthday. This pub is somewhere we always used to visit and have family 'get-togethers ' when I was little in the late 80s to mid 90s, and have great memories. It 's not how I remembered it, however. (Though to be fair this was 30/35 years ago) Service was quick and we ordered very quickly, but they were short staffed we were waiting over an hour for our mains, however, they gave us a complimentary dish of chips to apologise with our mains when they came. Hats off need to go to the young girl waitress, who seemed to be doing everything on her own, and doing her absolute best, so she deserves recognition. The food was absolutely delicious despite the wait, and our compliments were passed on to the chef. Would recommend a visit.

We had an amazing Sunday lunch today. It was fresh tasty just like home made but maybe even a bit better. Great service, good price we will definitely be visiting again soon
While canal boating for a week on this stretch of the Grand Union Canal, we were becoming a little disappointed by the lack of quality pubs serving good food on or a short walk from the canalside. Until we came across the Olde Sun. Beautiful old pub with a delightful interior and friendly service. And the food is amazing. The ploughmans was traditional, with great quality produce and everything a ploughmans should be. My 12 year old son had the fish and chips, which despite being a very generous size, he polished off with gusto. Meanwhile my partner opted for the venison cottage pie which he couldn 't stop raving about the best cottage pie I 've ever eaten etc A lovely lunch, a couple of drinks and a game of pool a fantastic way to spend a couple of hours. I can 't recommend this pub enough.
