This charming modern countryside pub, run by a lovely family, offers delicious food with the added bonus of a pizza oven. Although I didn't try one myself, they looked amazing! The menu is diverse and has a great variety of options. I had a wonderful dining experience here and would highly recommend it for couples, families, and groups of friends. I will definitely be returning soon. View all feedback.
What Richard Ford doesn't like about The Bull At Towcester:
Once again, a disappointment. Despite the changing ownership, the quality remains poor. Arrived for Sunday lunch to find the pub empty except for a waitress. Informed her of our reservation, only to be told there was no carvery that day. It would have been nice to receive a message or email beforehand informing us of this. This establishment in Towcester continues to be the worst, regardless of the number of landlord... View all feedback.
Good beers, friendly staff, great music selection in the background.
Found this restaurant/pub by doing a trip advisor search based on the reviews we decided to book a table for Saturday night via the website. Got to the restaurant/bar gave our name was told to sit anywhere, our booking was not marked off anywhere which I thought was a bit unusual. Advised by the gentleman behind the bar that the lady whose name I didn’t take would look after us. About 20 minutes after our arrival this lady came over and said that we would need to order food at the bar, at no time were we told this when we asked about a menu we were told it’s only pizza or carvery. So when I said this wasn’t what was on the website we were told ‘oh we’ve had a few people come in refer to the website menu’ wouldn’t it be an idea to then take the menus off the website if people are referring to them. Neither of us wanted pizza or a carvery so had our drinks left
Very good service and staff very polite food was excellent
Used to be a lovely place to eat, but not anymore it appears. We came in for a quick dinner and there was no one else sat down. With a two year old in tow we like to go and eat early to avoid disturbing others and so we don't have to wait long due to him being two he can become irritable quickly. we ordered and sat down, an hour and a half later still no food and no apology for the wait. When we ordered we werent told there would be a wait nor did we think there would be due to there being no one else eating ! we decided enough was enough and to ask for our money back and leave, we never found out why we were waiting so long ! They also had only carlsberg and guiness left on tap until Tuesday! (didn't bother us as we weren't drinking however over a hot weekend there are going to be some disappointed people! this is the third time we have tried to eat in there since they have been taken over and the first two times we were turned away as the kitchen was closed (again no explanation as to why AVOID !
Great atmosphere pub with a large family welcome garden. Food was good for a lunch with a pint.
