What marymay60 doesn't like about The Boars:
Our mains were delicious but our desserts were very disappointing, one very over cooked, one tasted stodgy and stale. I should have picked the creme brûlée which is always delicious. I was treating someone for a special birthday so it wasn’t nice that the waiting staff felt the need to openly discuss the price of each main which I felt was unnecessary and made my friend feel uncomfortable. Delicious lunch I opted for Fish of the day (Sea Bass) perfectly cooked with Samphire and Capers, followed by creme brulee, I think the best Creme Brulee in England. Well worth a visit. View all feedback.

read moreThe Boars restaurant offers a mix of experiences, with some guests enjoying delicious mains and exceptional creme brûlée, while others found their desserts disappointing. The service was a point of contention, with waiting staff openly discussing prices and serving alcoholic drinks to customers who requested non-alcoholic options. However, the food quality and atmosphere were generally praised, especially on sunny days in the beautiful beer garden. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the decor has been upgraded nicely since lockdown. Overall, The Boars provides a pleasant dining experience and is worth a visit, with some room for improvement in service training.
