It was my first time being here and I was very impressed! As a bar manager, I can be critical, but Friendly bartenders, quick service, clean bathrooms (it's a girl thing) and cute outdoor area even on this rainy day! I have yet to try their food, but I will definitely be back! View all feedback.
What Brian T doesn't like about Golden Lion:
The bartenders and crowd weren't particularly friendly or welcoming, especially on a Badger football day. We came here two years ago and had a great time but not this last time. Sorry, just not what it used to be. Hope it returns to its friendly roots soon. View all feedback.
Great food, great staff, and large servings at a great price. 10/10 recommended. Always a great time at the lion!
Nice dart ball board. Plenty of room to play it. Usually friendly people at the bar that will let you get a drink so you can players
I've been going to The Golden Lion for a long time! Their **** Mary's are the best around and made with pickled mushrooms, olives, pickles, and asparagus. They host softball and dartball teams, and everyone knows your name and is so friendly when you walk in. They have NASCAR dinners and serve really great food. I've had really fun times with great friends here! It's super nice that they have a dedicated parking lot right across the street, and they also have a bus that you can rent for parties. The outdoor space in back is large, fenced in, and has seating. The women's bathroom is all updated and really nice! Lots of TVs, as well. I love supporting this family business!
This is the cleanest bar I've ever been in. If you been there sometime in the last 30 years the bartender/owner will remember your name. Working mans prices. Great place to watch the game, any game or sporting event. They even have a T.V outside.
