We were looking for a quick, tasty meal with our two tired children after a day of sightseeing. Nara was an awesome find, just a just a few doors from our hotel. What User doesn't like about Nara:
The fried chicken entree was good. The pork and veg in curry paste was too sweet. The pork was well over cooked twice so it was hard and chewy. The green curry chicken was also too sweet. The deep fried fish with garlic was good. The place was too cold. Only one small floor standing heater for the entire restaurant, which one rude male customer turned towards his table all for himself until I told him to share it. View all feedback.

Family came here whilst I was away and said the dining experience was a good one so they brought me here when I returned.Even they were quite disappointed the second time. The green curry was very oily and my husband said it wasnt like this the first time he had it. The fried chicken entree was not crispy and the temperature was also not even. Some pieces were too hot to hold and some were luke warm. The fried crispy pork was crispy, a little on the salty side and again the temperature was a little cool in the inside.Overall tasty meal but the temperature is a problem. This leaves me thinking about the state of hygiene and health of my stomach. The toilet is a disgrace. Ugly and dirty. The toilet seat not screwed on properly and had drips of urine on the seat. Clearly it has not been cleaned. We came on a saturday night and the place was bare. As soon as I approached the table, I noticed a badly chipped and jagged bowl. I made a comment to the waitress and she said absolutely NOTHING but only gave me a disgusting dirty look as if to say how dare you say this. I am surprised they even set the table using this badly chipped bowl. I then noticed my bowl was also chipped but not as bad but my family told me to shut up. I think she just changed that first badly chipped bowl to another table and gave me one from that table. Absolutely no customer service or not trained with customer handling and service. We will give this place another chance and try something else or the green curry again to see how consistent they are. And hopefully the service would have improved. Smile please.

Highly recommend.
This wonderful Thai restaurant is between Kings Way and St Kilda Rd and absolutely worth seeking out. We moved into the area about 4 months ago and have been trying to find replacements for our previous local favourites and I think we just found one. We started off with the 5 spice pork steamed buns and chive dumplings. The pork buns were stunning. We could have eaten so many more. the bun was soft and fluffy with just the right amount of chilli and pork. The chive dumplings may be texturally challenging for some as whilst the outside is crispy the inside is a little soft and gooey but paired with the black vinegar we loved it. For mains we had the crab special fried rice and prik khing crispy pork. The pork dish was absolutely stunning and worked well with the crab fried rice. We just sat there contentedly enjoying the best meal we've had in a long time. To finish off we decided to go with the smoked coconut icecream and black sticky rice. Wow. This place is absolutely on our regular visit list now. The waitress was lovely & friendly, the food was magnificent and it's BYO. what more do you want. You really need to try this place out. It's open for lunch and dinner, and yes they do do takeaway so there's no excuse.
The service was awesome. The friendly waitress was so attentive in a really lovely way. The food was great. Fresh hot and only minutes to come to table. The coconut ice cream with sticky rice was a great finisher. Five star. Would recommend the restaurant for everyone
