The friendly staff, mostly volunteers, provide excellent service. A hidden gem, this community-run cafe is a delightful place to enjoy a meal or a cuppa. With a varied menu and fantastic value deals like cake and a drink for £2 during specific hours, it's no wonder this cafe has become a regular spot for many visitors. The charming atmosphere and quality food make it a must-visit for anyone in the area.
Lovely wee place. Very friendly staff and the food couldn’t be faulted (full breakfast). Well done to whoever is running this as it’s a real gem of a place.
The last time i wrote a review about the Village Centre was in 2016. At the time i wasn't impressed and gave them a really poor review. Having been convinced about 6 weeks ago by my sister that both the food quality and service had been transformed I decided to go back. My sister wasn't wrong ! The menu may be quite small and simple but the quality of food being turned out by the kitchen is incredible. The speed from ordering food to delivery table is also impressive. As a result this is now a regular weekly visit to this place where I now bring my 87 year old Dad and my 88 year old father in law for our lunch once a week. Suggest if you want a table that you get there before 12pm as its always full to capacity. On one occasion we arrived after 1pm and it wasn't too busy so think the midday slot is probably the most popular. The icing on the cake on top of the food quality and service is the price. Lunch for three with soup, bread, tea, soft drinks and couple of portions of chunky chips was just under £20 !
We go here very regularly and the staff could not be more friendly and helpful. Most are young volunteers and are so attentive and pleasant. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced. The menu is varied and there are always 2 soups to choose from. We would certainly recommend a visit.
The food at the café is fantastic and reasonably priced. However, the customer service from the elderly lady who works there is terrible. My friends and I visit the café every week after attending a breastfeeding group. On one occasion, when we arrived, there were not enough tables available so we waited until some became free. Instead of blocking the entrance, some of us stayed back with our prams to allow people to exit. When two tables opened up, the lady only allowed us to have one, claiming that other customers who arrived after us needed the table.
My family comes here every Tuesday for lunch. The food quality is always consistent and the prices are incredibly cheap. It's no wonder that this place is busy every day of the week. Highly recommended.
