Popped in for lunch with my daughter, food was amazing. Excellent value would have paid more for the food as it was truly beautiful. Staff were friendly but can’t compliment the food enough. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Clydesdale Inn:
Ordered our meal, thought it was going to be for out unlike ANY other pub you had to buy starters as well costing a minimum so for mains and a kids meal, wouldn't have minded had the food been good...but sadly it was just microwaved pre prepared ****, the sauces had a thick skin on them, could hardly hear ourselves over the loud swearing by drunken locals in the lounge won't be back, this Pub is right up there with t... Returned after my previous bad review and the owner replying saying to give it another go and I’d be entitled to a free drink I’d rather drink someone’s dirty bath water The place is stinking of damp The staff are alright although could do without them smoking at the fire exit n trying to mask the dampness smell with fag reek The toilets are a complete disgrace with no toilet roll or lid and bits falling from the ceiling I honestly couldn’t bring myself to order food as it’s that bad Had a couple of drinks but couldn’t wait to leave It’s needing a complete overhaul There is plaster patches that have been done badly and not painted And the carpets have life forms growing in it The place is a complete pit and absolutely filthy I took a picture of the toilet cause it’s that bad
It's a nice old building but it seems to be in a state of disrepair. It's also really cold. We ordered drinks but didn't really feel like finishing them as it was so unpleasant. The staff were really meh. Don't think I'd bother going back.
Visited Lanark this summer, and wanted a dog friendly pub for a quick drink. To say this place is dog friendly is a huge understatement the staff made me and my spaniel puppy feel really welcome they offered to cook some chicken goujons for him, which he loved. We returned for lunch the following day. I had an amazing burger and again puppy got some beef for his lunch and also given a takeaway box for him for later. Thank you for being so friendly.
Had dinner here with friends recently and had a lovely meal. I've seen some bad reviews but unlike an earlier review which was quite frankly rude and defamatory regarding the chef, what we had, chicken with black pudding, flat iron steak, sticky toffee pudding and apple crumble, was all delicious. Couldn't fault the staff either, so friendly and helpful. I don't know if it's different chefs some days or what but we will definitely be back. I agree some areas of the pub are very run down, we were in the closed off bit and it's fine, but pubs are having a hard time these days and unless enough people visit it must be difficult to afford to upgrade. I'll be back to visit soon.
We had the most amazing lunch We all chose either from different starters as a main or from the main menu. Lots of choices. Food was superb and very reasonably priced. The staff were really accommodating, attentive and friendly. They even brought food for my dog free of charge. I wish I could pick this place up and take it back to Kent with me!!! As family live here in Lanark, we will come again What a gem of a place!!!!
