A friend and I called in for lunch midweek....we hadn't booked but luckily managed to get a table. Lovely food, a great array of cakes and the service was great. Would definitely return. View all feedback.
What garlic n sapphires doesn't like about The Orangery:
There have been many changes at The Orangery, but unfortunately, they have not been for the better. The cafe was nearly empty, but the table service was unpleasant, argumentative, rushed, and unfriendly. There have been many changes at The Orangery, but unfortunately, they have not been for the better. The cafe was nearly empty, but the table service was unpleasant, argumentative, rushed, and unfriendly. Despite placing a simple order, the server was inattentive and got both our drink and food orders wrong. She also did not return to check on us. The blonde will not be returning. When we brought these issues to the newest manager, they did not apologize or offer to make things right. In addition, the quality of the food has declined in the last year or two, while the prices have increased. If you must visit, it is best to skip the food and settle for an average cup of tea and enjoy the view.
This place is a hidden gem! I went here for the first time with a friend and we were impressed by the lovely menu with so many choices. I decided to try the falafels and they were absolutely delicious! The service was also great. I will definitely be coming back and recommending this restaurant to my friends.
I, being someone who follows a gluten-free diet, had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The lemon meringue was gluten-free (which is rare for desserts). I also had the option of banoffee roulade or carrot cake. The pork and mango burger is also gluten-free. I opted for the homemade soup, which was delicious. It's great to be able to support such a worthy cause!
Unfortunately we had an extremely abrasive member of staff from start to finish. Seated outside and then told once we had been served that we had to vacate the table in 20 minutes because a group wanted the table as they had a dog. An unpleasant member of staff who needs training in customer care; spoilt our visit and I will never go to this cafe again and I will not recommend.
Great afternoon tea and fabulous views great value and lovely ladies very friendly. Clean facilities too
