We have been visiting Lake Tahoe at least once a year for the past 14 years and we have breakfast or brunch at the Gateway Cafe every day. The food is consistently delicious and the staff is very friendly. One of my favorites dishes is the Cream of Mushroom special. View all feedback.
What Rayene Djemani doesn't like about The Getaway Cafe:
I was on the road driving for almost 2 hours and half. I stopped here because i really wanted to use the restrooms. I walked in and asked nicely if i could use them . The door had a sign restrooms only for customers, which i didn 't even see. the blond girl gave me the nastiest look ever.i would have appreciated it if she pointed me to the sign or simply said that restrooms can not be used or gave me more of a direct... Such a special place in South Lake Tahoe. Never disappointed with any choice there. Staff are warm and amazing.
Good little place to stop on the way outta SLT. Just past the bug station on the right. Indoors in the off season, there's outdoor seating in the summer. Food is done perfect by the kitchen and the service is super friendly.I had a beef sandwich that was very good and meaty and my friend had a chicken on some sort of salad. The indoor dining is cozy and a little crowded at times. best to try tp arrive on off hours mid week.
