This restaurant is a fantastic spot for casual Chinese cuisine. The dishes are always tasty, fresh, and vibrant. The staff is extremely friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Although we usually opt for takeout, the dining area is spacious (with socially distant seating), clean, and inviting. What User doesn't like about Hunan Garden:
This is the only Chinese restaurant that managed to stay open during the pandemic in South Lake Tahoe. They no longer offer a buffet, but have a limited menu selection. The food still has authentic wok flavors. View all feedback.
Paid $20.00 for the seafood combo and it has more juice then total food, very disappointing.
Standard American Chinese food, moreso leaning on the Chinese fast food side rather than authentic. A lot of variety on the menu. No more buffet probably due to covid.
This is a great place to dine, and I had been coming here several times, before or after having a long hike, many years. Corvid has been really rough on the service industry in general, and now we should do our civic duty to keep a wonderful place like this alive! Come enjoy the food. I know that I won't be disappointed and am happy to come again.
Coming from the Bay Area, Hunan Garden would be very competitive there. We missed the great buffet but due to COVID, they had to go to a lunch menu. They have a strong selection , so much so, I asked our waiter to choose for me. It was a great choice!
Amazing food, great price, and prompt service. Looks a little sketchy on the outside, but it's pretty on the inside. And best of all the place is clean and well taken care of. 10/10 and will definitely be returning!
