The White Thorn Inn - South Hams

Once again, the princetown retirement fellowship returned to the white thorn after a long covid curldown to be warmly welcomed by mike and the personal. we had made reservations for a Christmas dinner. after getting around the log fire with glasses full of dartmoors famous ales, we soon quenched our thirst and were ready for our meals. we were not disappointed. each of the group o fourteen agreed that the meals were excellent. after a few drinks to wash their meals, the group farewell from our host mike decided to again in the early 2022.

We were part of a large group and enjoyed a very friendly pub with a good atmosphere. The service was prompt and everyone was served together with hot food. The meal was excellent with plenty of food, and the dessert was lovely. The only downside was that the coffee was disappointing.

The food at this restaurant was excellent, especially the delicious pie and excellent beer. I will definitely be returning, as the landlady was very friendly. Next time, I will be sure to try the roast.

This pub has recently changed hands so I popped in for dinner and a beer with my wife. Really impressed with the beer selection and quality of food. I had sea bass with ratatouille and new potatoes with a pint of Dartmoor IPA and a pint of Bays Christmas special

Under new management, the thorn is a nice pub, we went and had dinner, the roast beef and veg were really tasty, and the fish and chips was beautiful, using as much local produce as they can find. I even had my first taste of Dartmoor whisky. Well recommend for a stop off, outdoor seating to rear and a large play area for kids, booking for a table is a must.
