beer was excellent, crystal-clear prison-ale. good renter tried to lead a good old fashion pub, not much help from rudern natives who do not respect what he tries to do. many swear by natives in the beer garden. only the kind of thing that loses licenses. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Watermans Arms:
Very much a local with not a lot of passing trade but a little gem nonetheless. Good priced ever changing beer that normally hits the spot and great place to catch up with the local gossip. View all feedback.
Well maintained ales, prices, great staff, good atmosphere. the renter leads this place for the pleasure of his customers, in contrast to many others.
Beautiful friendly back road locally with a few outside tables. no eating is just decent good beer.
So, after the malteners in tuckenhay, see previous review, we arrived in this pub at 2.25 clock only in time to order a garnelensalat. eating stops around 2.30 after a little consultation we asked for some chips with the salat, but at 2.31... we were too late! the prawn salat was good if a little expensive. pity that they could not have added a minute outside the time any chips. these are the small things that make one difference and they want to return. I am not sure if I would just say
What a hidden gem this pub is! it is towed from the main road in totnes and offers the experience of a traditional pub with a selection of large local ales and more. the friendly atmosphere makes it like a local one from the minute they enter. very impressed that this is not one missed
We popped in here as wanted somewhere off the beaten track and we weren't disappointed. A lovely welcome with a working fire place. A real local pub with friendly people and a good atmosphere. Very reasonably priced drinks too! A refreshing change!
