I went to this restaurant for lunch. The food was overpriced for what you received, which was just average and only warm. The staff, except for the owner, were lovely. When I expressed my concerns to the owner, her attitude and hard demeanor were absolutely appalling. She seemed to believe she was never wrong. If you lack customer service skills, I don't think you should be in this line of work. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
Top gluten free cake. This was a ‘cycling stop’ for welcome coffee and cake. The service was quick and helpful. The gluten free lemon polenta cake was lovely and there was another option. The carrot cake was super.
Second time of visiting. The first time I gave a 4*. This time, disappointing. Took ages to be served while I was waiting a man with his dog came in went into the kitchen area, as he knew the chef. Firstly, I don't agree with a dog being in a food area if you're running a business. Secondly, the chef bent down was stroking the dog then went back to serving the food without washing his hands which is not very hygienic. Thirdly, when the food came the bacon wasn't crispy as asked very fatty. The toast had only been buttered in the middle so rest of it was dry. My daughter had a bap the top was burned so I asked for another top part. The girl took the whole thing away came back 10mins later, with yet another burned top. A piece of chocolate fudge cake also costs an extortionate £3.80, so didn't buy dessert. The reason for a 2* is because the coffee is nice, the poached eggs cooked perfectly the blonde lady very courteous. However, i won't be returning I'm afraid.
Shocked at the foul language used towards young staff by the manager, its bullying. Not what customers want to hear especially families with children.
Lovely setting on the river and really beautiful setting indoors. Sadly the food was not very nice at all, I had coronation bagette which had a strange runny sauce and some misplaced salad and red onion not what I was expecting. Desert looked nice though, would go for that if I revisited again.
