Had heard that a good chinese restaurant. Picked up takeaway after doing spin class at nearby pool. They do delivery for $3. I am big thai green curry fan. Delicious sauce with lovely lemongrass flavor. Dumplings delicious also. Could be my new Chinese fav in grafton. View all feedback.

Got takeaway delivered whilst on an overnight stop in Grafton. Had read many recommendations for this restaurant, but they let us down. The food was terrible. Unfortunate, as we also ordered enough to have the next day. Binned the lot!! View all feedback.

Since moving to the area just over a year ago, I have been constantly told by locals that this was 'the' place to go, to get the best chinese meal in the area. My wife and I went there for lunch last week to see whether they were correct. You see, being born in Australia, but with Asian heritage, and also a father who was a chinese chef makes it difficult for me to pay too much attention to others when they start talking or writing about this type of food. I need to go and try it to make up my own mind.Ambience was OK, with the obligatory murals and various asian paintings and ornaments that are found in every local chinese restaurant. The menu was fairly standard, with nothing to greatly differentiate it from any other offering. Maybe the home made dumplings. Food was served in good time, and was nice and hot. Didn't find the signature dish (sizzling seafood plate) that special as the squid was fairly rubbery, and there was a distinct lack of real variety on the plate. The Duck with mushrooms (champignons - not shitakes or chinese mushrooms) was a little chewy, but had some good flavours. The sweet and sour pork was quite good, with the pork pieces substantial and crispy, and the sauce very good.Overall, it wasn't a bad meal. But of the four offerings of the same genre, in the area, it definitely wasn't at the top of the list. It would seem excellent to locals, and very appropriate for this area (which lacks any real culinary offerings anyway). But having come from different experiences, I thought it was OK but not amazing.
For as long as I can remember, Li Garden has been where we have gotten our Chinese takeaway from. The food is consistently good & I have never had a disappointing meal here. Dining in, the service is friendly & the management are lovely. Home delivery is always hot and fresh. We love the Mongolian combination, honey King prawns, sweet & sour pork & special fried rice.
