What 23bf doesn't like about The Wishing Well:
If I could give this food a (0). It was the worst fish and chips ever, had the lighter lunch menu. Ordered at 2.15 food arrived at 2.30pm fish batter was soggy I just wish I had taken a picture. My husband had the veg Chili it came out warm, as I tasted it and just went to the bar after a lady was being served. I said we couldn’t eat our food and requested our money back which they did but the chef Kev was very rude... View all feedback.
Called in late yesterday evening hoping for dinner and wasn’t disappointed amazing new menu and piping hot food by the open fire couldn’t ask for better thank you Lewis Kev
Visited with friends, on arrival was told there would be an hour wait if we wanted to order food as a big table coming. Allowed us to order, food delivered within 20 mins. No big table ever arrived. Food was below standard, had surf/turf scampi was undercooked, lasagne, burger, and pie were okay. Son had mixed grill, egg was not cooked, steak was very well overdone and chewy. Some plates were cleared before others had finished and one plate they tried to clear while I was still eating. 16 year old had a pint of cider with his food (which is within the law) and he was told he couldn’t drink it after it had been paid for. Whole meal was completely rushed and made to feel very unwelcome. When we left at 8.15pm only 3 cars left in car park. Did make it known to bar staff that it was disappointing. Do not recommend.
Just finished a walking stage on the Monarchs Way .The Wishing Well was very welcoming with a log fire and the staff were very hospitable. The food came out quickly and was very good. The pub became very busy but we were still looked after.
We have visited this charming country pub several times and have always been warmly greeted by the staff. Most recently, we dined here for Mother's Day with my mom and one of my daughters. The food was delicious, the staff attentive, and they made sure we were satisfied with our meal. The service was prompt and the food was excellent. The atmosphere was cozy and we enjoyed relaxing by the welcoming fire while finishing our drinks. I look forward to returning in better weather to enjoy their spacious garden. The pub is family-friendly and great for children to play in. They also welcome well-behaved dogs with their owners. I highly recommend a visit, as they also accommodate wakes and functions upon request. We plan to return to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday.
We were looking for a spacious restaurant for our big dog, and this place had plenty of room with a fire going. We ordered two gammon egg and chips dishes and a kids meal, which came to a total of £30. The gammon was cooked perfectly, with delicious eggs and plenty of chips. The staff was extremely friendly and even brought water and a treat for our dog. They also provided a small kids dessert that wasn't on the menu. We left with three empty plates and plan to come back for lunch on a weekend soon.
