They were also very helpful catering for my dietary requirements, cooking me a lovely breakfast with wonderful cherry tomatoes, still on the vine! I do think some people might feel more comfortable with a lunch menu, but others would prefer to pick from the counter. Would recommend the circular walk along the ridge after lunch, and also the pub down the road for a deserved pint, and if you are visiting in Sept/Oct, a tour of the chilli farm tour!
My wife and I were welcomed and hosted royally by David Hawkins, the owner of the Manor Farm Cafe. The traditional Sunday Lunch was well cooked, well presented and an absolute joy to eat. The range of local beers, ciders and wine available is both impressive and very, very palatable. In summary, I heartily recommend the Manor House Cafe and fully intend to return for a repeat the performance of this very satisfying experience in the near future.
As you can see by my title, my boyfriend and I found the glamping experience underwhelming and badly executed. My boyfriend spent a considerable amount of money on this experience and while it was lovely because we were enjoying time together I found the facilities we were expecting and paid for to be poor. By this I mean, we were promised a BBQ which was not provided in fact we had to borrow David 's personal one (we will touch on that later), all of the lighting was broken and we had to resort to our torches on our phones. In the pictures the tents looked spacious and luxurious but we were met with a cramped and bare spare to sleep which really lacked the magic we were promised. So after supplying all of our own belongings (bedding etc) we then cleaned up on our last day and went on our merry way, cleaning up and leaving things up to a standard which would be easy to arrange for the next person; however today we receive a message from David himself saying You left the tent in a mess , which was impossible as nothing but a bed was supplied! To add to this, although David (bless him) on the surface seemed like a cool guy who even let us use his BBQ it has transpired that this is nothing more than a feeble attempt to boost his ratings and endorsements as he practically begged us for a good rating. Now I work in customer service and I know what this looks like and David, you have no clue. You were rude, obnoxious and unwelcoming and I feel that you left my boyfriend feeling underwhelmed and ripped off and no one wants to feel like that. In my opinion if you are wanting to experience camping, go somewhere where David isn 't as you will have a much better and probably cheaper stay!
David, the friendly farmer who runs this site, is known for saying that this is his favorite place. My family, including my adult son and six-year-old son, came for a beginner's camping experience in our rented campervan. The farm has a working atmosphere, but visitors easily fit in. The rustic setting is charming. The camping field is slightly sloped, but not a bother. If you prefer a flat surface, there are yurt style tents and wigwams available for hire. The breakfast, made with fresh and tasty ingredients, is a true farmhouse experience. Guests can help themselves to coffee or tea. The on-site shop offers a variety of local products, from bread to pickles. This was my young son's first camping trip and it couldn't have been better. He even overcame his fear of dogs by playing with Ruby, the friendly collie who lives on the farm. Overall, this campsite is as idyllic as it gets and at an affordable price.
Fantastic place, stayed in one of their bell tents which was lovely and comfortable, you need to bring your own bedding but that was no problem. The wedding party was in the barn and was fantastic, the farmer and family were amazing at manning the bar and the breakfast the next morning was very yummy!
