Renowned for its impressive selection of homemade burgers, each crafted with locally sourced ingredients, the standout menu item is the "Sticky Joe," a juicy delight topped with bacon, smoked cheese, and tangy BBQ sauce. While the bar can get lively on weekends, with a loyal local crowd, Mondays and Tuesdays may see limited drink options. Whether dining in or opting for takeaway, visitors rave about the generous portions and delectable sides, making it a must-visit for burger enthusiasts.
The sports bar is nice enough, but they prioritized adding another dartboard over maintaining the kitchen. Due to this decision, I stopped going there.
501 is simply a bar with TVs for racing enthusiasts, offering affordable beer during the daytime.
The previous record shop, Also Cafe, and more recently a Cafe/burger/Sports Bar have now transformed into a sports bar after a refit that included knocking down the old kitchen. The Burgers are no longer on the menu, and it now operates as a standard sports bar/pub during the week. On Saturday nights, it turns into a nightclub, resembling a smaller version of 'Chasers Kingswood' or 'Barcelona Kingswood'. The staff are very friendly and always up for a chat, as are the regulars. The '501 Bar' has increased in size by a third since the refit, which was much needed, although it can still feel small on Saturdays. The selection of beer, cider, and ale is decent, but not exceptional, and prices are reasonable. Be prepared for possible shortages of canned or bottled beer during the week, especially on Mondays and Tuesdays. There is not much of a beer garden, just a small area by the doors for smoking (standing only), which can get crowded on weekends. Overall, it is a no-frills establishment that is what it is.
Ordered takeaway and when I went to collect it the place was not what I expected as it was running as a local bar type place. Busy and it appeared to be a 'Local ' for the people there as I was looked at like an alien. The burgers were massive and delicious! Proper burgers! We choose the option to chose our own toppings which was great. Thick slices of bacon and lush burger and bun. Highly recommend, not sure about eating in but it was a Friday night maybe its different other times. Friendly staff
Honestly it was delicious! I've sampled many gourmet burgers from GBK to Spy Glass to the famous Hobgoblin...this was by far the best. The sweet potato fries were to die for. A new favorite and I cannot recommend enough. Also the staff were very helpful and sweet.
