For sure, it doesn't compare to Vietnamese food I've had in other countries, but for being located in the US Viet Huong is not bad. What Christopher Masushige sr doesn't like about Viet Huong:
I'm sorry but this has to be the worst pho I've ever tasted. Ive been to other restaurants that had a B rating and it tasted way better. Top it off I ordered the porkchops with rice and they only gave me one every other place I've been to at least gave me 2 or more. I would not recommend anybody to eat here. View all feedback.
My wife and I had an incredible dining experience recently at Viet Hoang in South El Monte, CA. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and seated immediately. The ambiance is cozy and feels like a traditional family restaurant. My wife ordered the Beef Spring Rolls, and they were made to perfection—each bite was flavorful and delicious. The ingredients were fresh, with the perfect balance of lettuce, noodles, and tender beef. The peanut sauce on the side was a great complement, and they were happy to provide fish sauce upon request. I ordered the (Bo Luc Lac) a.k.a. shake and beef, and it was absolutely mouthwatering. The garlicky rice, which reminded me of Spanish rice, paired beautifully with the well-seasoned, stir-fried cubes of steak. The dish was served with lettuce, tomato, and cucumber on the side, adding a refreshing touch. It’s truly a taste of Vietnam! Augie, the owner, is incredibly humble and down-to-earth. You can tell he genuinely cares about his staff and the quality of the food served. He pours his heart and soul into his business, and it shows in every dish. I highly recommend stopping by Viet Hoang for a savory, mouthwatering taste of Vietnam!

Got the pho tai chin, delish and huge portion.FYI, the area around it is quite rough. Don't expect too much.
The decor is a bit old-fashioned, but the food is of good quality and the prices are reasonable. The parking lot outside the restaurant is not big, so it may be difficult to find a parking space during busy hours.
