The Gate Inn - South Derbyshire

I recently visited this restaurant with my family and found the new owners to be very welcoming. They are a lovely family who go above and beyond to accommodate their guests. The bouncy castle is a great addition for children to enjoy while at the restaurant, ensuring they are not bored. The pub itself is well-maintained and clean. I was impressed to find a little box in the women's restroom with sanitary products and body sprays. It's the small touches like these that made our visit enjoyable. I will definitely be returning soon!

Recently visited the gate after bad experience with previous landlord-lady, must say the pub has been turned around and doing really well. Been tidy-up inside and out. Landlady and landlord very pleasant and welcoming. Can't wait to return when they have got the food up and running

We visited the restaurant this weekend and went for lunch on Easter Sunday. We had Beef and Turkey dishes, which were delicious and good value. The service was friendly and the meal selection was impressive. Congratulations to the new staff members.

Terrible customer service skills by the manager!!! Went for a family meal we was told it was a limited menu that was ok so ordered off that ,but while we was eating other customers came in and ordered food from another menu ,we all ordered Sunday lunch the food not looking it’s best the gravy like brown water,beef burnt on one of the meals our family member went to return it and was told to “ cut the burnt off” and the rest was ok to eat ,what the heck, cheesy chips was fries with a lump of cheese dropped on top it was so hard it couldn’t be eaten ,we complained about these things and was told we didn’t have to pay for the beef dinner,when we went to pay a member of our party was told his payment hadn’t gone through so he’d have to pay again he showed her on his bank it had gone out but the manager insisted he pay again and he if he was charged double to go back and she would give him his money back ,we would never go back here again due to the lack of customer skills by the manager awful

We came here with the family over the bank holiday weekend bouncy castle outside kept the children entertained. We had some grazers from the menu and my husband had a mixed grill the food was lovely and quick for saying how busy it was
