Just a very unimpressive experience. Coffee was weak and tasteless, bacon was undercooked and left me feeling a bit sick all afternoon. Service was poor too, with only 3 tables in use, it would be easy to bring food to the customer, rather than fetching it from the hatch when your buzzer goes. The floured bap was fresh and tasty though, and the staff were friendly, just not trained on basic bacon/coffee skills. View all feedback.

read moreNestled alongside a picturesque canal lock, this charming café presents a mixed bag of experiences. While some patrons rave about the friendly atmosphere, lovely cakes, and stunning views, others express disappointment in the menu's lack of variety, particularly for gluten-free and dairy-free options. Complaints about food quality, weak coffee, and overpriced snacks have surfaced, alongside concerns regarding staff training. Despite the warm service and inviting setting, potential customers are left yearning for improvements. Nonetheless, the café remains a favored stop for walkers and boaters, promising a relaxing break with the right upgrades and a refreshed menu.
Very friendly, helpful staff. Had a lovely breakfast here before carrying on with my dog walk along the canal. Situated right by the lock and dog friendly.
