Barnes Noble Cafe - South Burlington

Lots of books, and there is a Starbucks on the first floor

Went here with my parents as part of our Vermont Vacation on August 28th 2023. Went here after going to a general store in Burlington, which was right next door to this place. Love actual bookstores, Barnes Noble being one of them, as they have lots of books by both locally owned authors, and widely known authors such as steven king. I didn't buy anything, but spent an awful lot of time looking. This location also has a starbucks in which one can snack and read if they want to. They also sell vinyls, dvds, and cds, and found a few good movies and music that i would have brought. Even found a book that would have been cool to read. Store needs a bit more organizing via their genres. Overall, great stop if one loves entertainment and to read! would definitely go to a barnes and noble again, just not this one as we were just visiting Vermont.

Large and open store. Clean with friendly staff. The genre sections has above-average variety (e.g., the horror shelves were not just King). Surprisingly, they have a large used and remainders room that we found well worth the time to pick through.

Saw Bernie Sanders, bought some toys, bought some books, drank some coffee. Makes for a great rainy day

Unfortunately, either it's the workers or just Barnes Nobles has gone downhill since covid. Unfriendly or apathetic staff in the book section Cafe section seemed to be booming) Selection of fantasy books was low, and this Barnes Nobles was filthy ! There were as many fallen, crushed leaves in the entrance and carpet as there were in the driveway. I don't know when the last time the rug was vacuumed, anywhere in the store. The men's bathroom door was held open by a heavy metal pole, scuffed, broken, and nasty would be the words that 1st come to mind when using the facilities and the smell !?. I was there before covid. It didn't have this vibe. Still lots of people, surprisingly . It used to be a place I'd want to hang out in with a great book now? Try finding a chair to even sit down in. It's a dam shame.
