We met up with my son for a meal there Sunday mid afternoon. There 's a gorgeous huge garden outside with plenty of seating and a lake. Were not required to give our names, just walked in. Plenty of sanitiser available to use. Staff all friendly and service was very quick after ordering on the app. I hadn 't done that before but was very impressed as it saved having to stand in line at the bar for service, but you ha... What Cat doesn't like about The Hope And Champion:
The food was not terrible, but I lost my appetite after overhearing two staff members talking about the moldy kitchen and dirty food lift while I was waiting for my meal. I decided not to eat any of my food. This restaurant definitely needs to be inspected as soon as possible. View all feedback.
Is this the worst Weatherspoons in the country? At this one the meals are more expensive than most it's a smaller menu and you don't get a drink included. I work away from home and have to eat here most nights it has been getting worse every week.this week on Monday they ran out of salt, today is Thursday and still no salt,on Wednesday they ran out of CHIPS,and today they ran out of Burgers. The place has two floors but the staff close the upstairs every night which means that the ground floor is so busy most people with a choice walk away,I expect the management team at head office wonder why the takings are low
The Hopeless and Champion of Nothing. Food was as expected but there was no workable internet to use the app and I therefore had to interact with the staff who really did not know their job to an acceptable standard. I cannot say never say never but I do hope so
I visited this pub with my daughter yesterday and we ate different meals. I had chicken tikka. When I got home I became ill with diarrhea and I'm still unwell the next day so it probably was not cooked well enough to kill the germs. I have not eaten anything since that meal so I'm pretty sure that meal made me ill. My daughter is ok thankfully.
Firstly the upstairs section was closed, downstairs was full. There was no function going on just a member of staff eating in one of the booths... hummm. The All American cheese burger was smaller than a child's Mcdonalds burger. And you charged me £7.50 for that, thank you. The drinks took an age to arrive and when they did arrive they where just plonked on the table, on the tray and the happy smiley server just walked off. Can you feel the sarcasm. Not one member of staff cracked a smile. If you can't smile don't do the job. Food was bland, and we where not even asked if everything was okay... glad not to go there again.
We weren't expecting much, and we weren't disappointed. We had tradional breakfast, and it was cheap, cheerful, and cold.
