A lovely spot with delightful grounds. Inside, a warm welcome greeted us and this excellent customer service continued as the hallmark of our visit. A great choice of sandwiches, as much tea as you can drink, scones, jam and cream with a selection of fine cakes to close. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon we’ll be back View all feedback.

Without the friendly staff I would of given 3 stars. The afternoon tea itself was average. The bread from the sandwiches wasn’t very fresh. The homemade scotch eggs were lush though! The homemade scones also dry and v crumbly. A nice selection of mini cakes. Tea and coffee refilled throughout and could add champagne at £10 a glass. We went on a Friday winter afternoon and it was pretty much empty. Despite being an old building it didn’t feel drafty. A large free carpark available.
Enjoyed a nice afternoon tea. Really good good and helpful staff. There are prettier locations for afternoon tea but was still an enjoyable afternoon
I absolutely adore cream teas, and this one was by far the best I've ever had. The restaurant staggered bookings, so the dining room wasn't too crowded when we arrived. We visited on an incredibly hot day (33 degrees) and took advantage of the opportunity to relax in the garden in the shade on some comfortable deck chairs while we waited for our table. I had purchased a voucher through RedLetterDays for the Deluxe Cream Tea, which included unlimited tea/coffee, a three-tier cake stand filled with a variety of cakes, pastries, scones with jam and clotted cream, and finger sandwiches with the crusts cut off. We were able to select two sandwich fillings from a list of six options, and we chose four different types on brown bread (prawn, gammon and pineapple, cheese and tomatoes, cream cheese and chive). The cakes were all delicious and not overly sweet, including strawberry tarts, cheese cake, gooseberry trifle, and a Victoria sponge with jam and cream. The service was attentive but not too intrusive, making us feel truly special. They even asked if we wanted more tea or hot water. The table was elegantly set with crisp white table cloths and starched white linen napkins. The two-hour journey to get there was completely worth it, and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. I would definitely go back again.
All the staff at the Grovefield House Hotel made our 20th Wedding Anniversary celebration an enjoyable and unforgettable experience. From the warm welcoming, drinks at the bar and then the Delux Afternoon Tea, everyone made us feel so relaxed and at home . The food, drinks and surroundings were superb and we enjoyed it immensely.
