Great pub in Southbank for Friday drinks/meal after work. Very convenient location for us to walk to QPAC to see Hamilton. Beers we’re good and meals were timely and delicious. View all feedback.
What Darius Lehner doesn't like about The Ship Inn:
We have been here a few times, this time the food was very average and the macho service staff were very abrupt and rude, furthermore they don't mind kicking patrons out so they can go home early View all feedback.
Stumbled across this pub on the south bank , tucked away in a corner . The menu looked inviting , we selected the beef wellington and the special of the day beef stroganoff) . We were not disappointed! Fabulous food , generous portions, fresh and hot ! Great friendly service too .
Had an office Xmas party upstairs in one of the venue rooms. The buffet offered was very nice with a good selection of food, the deserts selection were excelletn as well.
We visit The Ship Inn on a regular basis to catch up with friends. My recent visit was disappointing. I had the rump, chips salad. My rump was riddled with gristle. It was difficult to cut and even harder to chew. I understand restaurants have had a tough few years, so I didn't want to complain and I thought the steak may have got better. But it didn't so i never finished it.. But when the waiter asked me how was the rump? I couldn't lie. I told him that it was full of gristle. He did look surprised. I don't know if he told the kitchen but I didn't get an apology.
Had a function upstairs in a private room for approximately 100 people. Finger food was provided for the occasion and it was delicious. Spring rolls and bao buns were delicious. Once the function was finished we went down to the restaurant for a late dinner. Andrew our waiter was so friendly advising us on the wine and menu. Turkish garlic bread and fish and chips were our pick for our meals. Would return there because of the excellent service we were given.
Good, quick service at our table overlooking the street scene. We arrived after the worst lunchime crush was over following our visit to the Maritime Museum across the street and ordered a 'meal of the day ', baramundi with all the trimmings and a fish chips. The food tasted good and was served soon after ordering. We 'd go back again for sure.
