I liked to rate my experiences with brunch restaurants on seven categories: the wait, the service, the food, the quality, the cost, the coffee, and the vibes Neil's restaurant blew me out of the water for what I was expecting. The wait none at all. Walked and was seated as soon as a staff person came to us. The service the waitress was pleasant and cheery. She gave us plenty of time to look over the menu while my group was moving slowly and hung over The food delicious, warm, flavorful, and big portions. Though I will knock them here as they only hot sauce we were offered was Tabasco. The cost a cup of coffee, a cup of lemonade, and a skillet came out close to $20 and I had enough left overs for breakfast the next day The coffee if you had told me this was some generic Sysco coffee I would have been shocked because it was actually pretty good. I think it was about $2.50 for a cup. It was hot, but not scalding hot. The vibes I give them an average score here. It's a dinner that is open from what feels like dawn to dusk, it's sandwiched between two small Midwestern towns, and if you go on a Sunday morning it is packed with families and old people. Nothing crazy, exciting or different here. But it felt safe and clean Overall id rate it really high, recommend it to anyone I know going through the area, and plan to visit again.
We arrived on a busy Sunday morning and we were seated quickly. Our food came out very quickly. Unfortunately my egg was undercooked and when I pointed it out, the replacement was overcooked.
Our breakfast was great. Hot, fresh and fast. Just what we wanted. Perfect sunny side up eggs. I always judge a restaurant, by how well they can do them. For a simple dish lots of places screw them up
My 89-year-old mother wanted a pork chop dinner, so I decided to order takeout from Neli since I didn't feel like cooking. Usually, my mother asks for extra salt and pepper when she gets takeout, but this time she was pleasantly surprised to find that the food was perfectly seasoned. It was clear that the person who prepared the food knew what they were doing. I have always enjoyed breakfast at this restaurant, so it was no surprise that the dinner was just as delicious.
