We can always rely on a delicious homemade breakfast at this restaurant. The staff is friendly, although they may be short-handed on some days, which can lead to longer waits. This seems to be a common issue at many businesses nowadays. View all feedback.
What Emmitt Volkman doesn't like about Olde Town Centre Cafe:
I am extremely disappointed with Blind Bay more than any other place in the area. Surrounded by high cliffs on three sides, the town only gets sunlight for a fraction of the day. The houses on the cliffsides are overpriced, and the season is short. Olde Town Cafe is the only sit-down eatery in the bay area, and it is a huge letdown. The service is terrible, with waitstaff more interested in chatting than attending to... View all feedback.
The staff and food at this restaurant are fantastic! The prices are great. I just wish they were open for lunch as well.
Great for grabbing bite to eat on boat, or go for huge yummy affordable breakfast, can get very busy, especially on Saturdays and Sundays when all the locals stop by for brunch on outdoor patio
Good portions. Meals were hot. Server was great. Ensured we had what was required to complete the meal.
Having had breakfast here twice in the past year, I can say that this is what a small resort area needs and people should expect, not some fancy high-end locale. The service was friendly, quick and if you avoid the busy times, it is nice to sit back and enjoy the local flavour of the place, which is currently being renovated. The home-made grain bread was especially good, and for about $8.- we got a full breakfast, with a nice piece of REAL ham plus the usual sides. There is another eatery around the corner on the waterfront which is a pleasant place to have lunch or supper during the high season, so this is NOT the only place to eat. There is also another small summer-only place off the main lake road, not far from this one, so options do exist. Blind Bay has lots to offer for visitors and locals.
Café is closed till the end of February 2015 for renovations. Hopefully they will be open again soon with a new menu - Last one hadn't changed in a long time - always find the service friendly and wonderful soups. Can't wait to see what is changed.
