We were visitng lake Como for 2 weeks holidays. Always interested to explore local cuisine and try to search for family run restaurants/cafe. La Grangia deffinetely matched profile of the restaurants we go for. It was quite easy to find since it's located on the main road. You initially enter shop where you can buy cheese cold meats. Which is fantastic because it gives you opportunity to purchase edible souvenir to bring home. Restaurant was empty we were the only visitors. Room was clean and nicely decorated. The only disadvatage was that there is no windows to enjoy beautifull view. We were offered set menu of cheese/meets plata as a starter, followed by gnocchini (small gbocchi) for 1st course, meet for second course and desert. Price was good and food sounded simple and nice. Starter was fine local meet and chese. Pasta was a dissappointment. We were offered cheese option or meat. I was suprised that meat gravy that was used was canned meat. It's very possible that it was canned locally or even by the owner but it ws not fresh. Owner did not speak very good English so I could not check. Meat for second course was ok, but it was served on the hot plate so you kind of cook it yourself (but it's common for the area). In general the owner is very nice and you can see him trying hard, but he just does not know how to do it well. He looked a bit scared in general that we showed up. I think he has the right idea of what he wanted to deliver but he does not know how. He probably very good as a farmer, but not as a restaurateur. Would recommend for him to put a bigger sign that he has shop with local farmed cheese meat and bigger sign for reastaurant. Put some tables outside, so that visitors can enjoy amazing view, choose simple dishes but from fresh local ingridients, and learn couple good pasta dishes. I put 3 stars for the efforts.
Nothing special, no list of prices this is a very bad practice. I can understand there are day dishes but the price shall be written somewhere. Expensive
Really good home made food! Very traditional place as well, they have animals outside. Felt really good!

The price is average and right.
