The restaurant is owned and run by two chefs, Charo y Max, who are some of the kindest and most charismatic people I’ve met on my trip through Spain. Their banter and welcoming attitude make you feel like you are a part of their family. If you are lucky Max will even serenade you while he cooks your food. The restaurant itself is charming and reminiscent of a cafe with a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The food will make you think you are eating at a five star restaurant. At “Al Bar De Max” the chef chooses what you eat. For us this meant, two small rounds of pasta appetizers, a pizza main course, and dessert. These home-made authentic Italian dishes were to die for and even better tasting than Italian food in Italy. The gnocchi and chocolate were especially remarkable.The owners are also incredibly accommodating with allergies. Overall, it was an absolute pleasure to eat in their restaurant and I highly recommend it to anyone passing through or visiting Soria.

The chef, Max, makes the food fresh every morning, sporting stylish pants(my favorites are the sunny-side up print) and an ear to ear grin. The barista/waitress is the best at what she does; watching her operate the espresso machine is symphonic! This café/restaurant is a must see in Soria!
