Was Anonym at Cold Shoulder Cafe a mag?
Many years ago, we would visit Goats on the Roof in Coombs, BC enroute to Tofino, and we would enjoy the best butter tarts ever! The dear baker died without leaving her secret recipe. But we are delighted to report that the Cold Shoulder Cafe in Jordan River has created a butter tart square that is a worthy rival. They also serve exceptional coffee and their panini, sausage rolls and turnovers (savoury and sweet), al... View all feedback.

What Anonym dislikes about Cold Shoulder Cafe:
We've driven by this place thousands of times. Finally we decided to stop. I was craving my caffeine fix lol and a munchies. Well let's just say very very expensive. Stale tasting processed !!!! We miss far out pizza. They were the best place to stop for yummy munchies and fresh yummy coffee. We highly recommend not stopping here. These folks have no idea what the meaning of fresh is View all feedback.

We stopped in to get a latte and London Fog that's pretty much all we wanted. The service was good. Picnic tables to set at out side. And to take in all that sea air

Knowing that 50% of the people are stopping for a restroom break should be a clue that they should install one or at least rent a "porta potty"This place is a bakery / coffee shopI ordered a daily soup and had to wait about ten minutes for it.The soup was really over peppered and I didn't eat it.Baked goods were OKWe wouldn't stop again

We were en route to Port Renfrew from Sooke and stopped here for lunch. They were out of soup but had lovely sandwich and raspberry oat bar. We sat out side and watched local scene of hippie/surfer/backpacker culture pass by. Lovely outdoor space.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at this coastal cafe, conveniently located across the street from the beach. The staff was friendly, the menu was straightforward, and the pastry display case was impressive. We tried the chickpea curry soup, the flatbread with Brie and tomato, a sausage roll, and an apple turnover. Everything was delicious, although I found the glaze on the apple turnover to be a bit overpowering - I suspect it was almond extract. Despite this, I appreciated the flavor, though I felt there was a bit too much glaze for my liking. The pastry was excellent and the filling, with the peel left on the apples, had a rustic quality to it.
