The cozy pub atmosphere has remained intact, complete with historic tile floors and a fireplace. They now offer outdoor dining, which is a welcomed addition. The noise level has decreased since the highway was rerouted. We enjoyed the delicious wild salmon, sourced from nearby Sooke Harbour.

What Hunter Hermiston doesn't like about 17 Mile House:
So we knew going on a Friday night it would be loud, busy and take time for food. What we were not expecting was the (very small) pub to have the live music have their volume at top sound. This is a small pub and granted extra noise from people talking, playing pool etc but this was just too much. So the food was not timed right we had nachos for the table to share and then our individual meals. The nachos came with... View all feedback.
Met friends here for lunch last Saturday. Alex was our server. Super friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. Food was perfect and Alex did an outstanding job with the service. Highly recommend 17 mile house. Dog friendly patio too and bean bag games set up. Did I mention the food was awesome!
9 years ago stopped for lunch before picking up a pup. Had many meals here over the years. Our go to place.

It's a shame that the pool table, where the best players in Sooke used to gather, is no longer there. The clientele consists of friendly locals, tourists, and passersby. They offer a variety of local beers from nearby breweries. Thank you for the wonderful memories. We hope the restaurant continues to thrive for years to come.
The pub was originally built at the turn of the twentieth century. Apparently there are spirits on the premises and not just the liquor. They normally have several beers on tap. Unfortunately the day we visited there was no Guinness due to COVID supply issues. Food was excellent traditional pub fare. Service was also great. Vaccine protocols were followed.
This restaurant has a lot of history and is located right next to Adrenaline zip line tours. They offer great fries and delicious hamburgers, but I had a bad allergic reaction due to my wheat allergy. The outdoor seating area is fenced and dog and kid-friendly, however, there is a lot of road noise.
