Description

Nestled just off I-10 in Sonora, this old-fashioned bakery is a reliable road-trip stop known for fresh donuts, standout apple fritters, a wide variety of kolaches and craveable breakfast sandwiches. Friendly, efficient staff keep lines moving during busy mornings, but limited hours (Tue–Sun until noon) mean favorites often sell out early. Most visitors praise the flavor and convenience, though a few note occasional cleanliness concerns and inconsistent price markings.

There is no drive-thru, but the kolaches are excellent and the donuts are pretty good! The staff was friendly, too!

Whenever I pass through Sonora, TX, I always make it a point to stop at this donut shop. They make the best kolaches in all varieties, along with delicious croissant breakfast sandwiches. And I can’t forget to mention their fresh donuts, which come in all sorts of flavors! The only downside is that they tend to sell out by noon. So, the next time you find yourself in the area, be sure to stop by. You won't regret it!

The donut holes are fantastic, and the breakfast burrito with salsa was delicious. The kolache I had was just okay. I stopped here during a cross-country road trip, and I would absolutely return if I find myself in town again. It’s obvious that this place is popular; there was a line stretching to the door when I arrived just after they opened, but it moved quickly, and the wait was definitely worth it!

We stopped here on our way back to Florida after seeing some good reviews online, so we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, our first impression was that the building seemed to be in disrepair, and the cleanliness left something to be desired. The donuts were decent, but the eclairs had an overwhelming lemon filling that we couldn't eat. On a positive note, the apple fritters were enjoyable. However, be mindful of the pricing; while regular donuts are priced at $1.18 each, the sprinkle donuts aren’t marked and cost $1.50 each. Overall, it didn't feel worth it.
