We went last Wed June 12th we have been going there for years! I have to say for Lunch Time and not really busy the service was very slow! the Food was good but took a while to get it and the waitress was slow to the point where someone walked out and didn't pay while she was checking us out! Hoping it gets better with these new owners! View all feedback.
What Rw's Rndm Lfe doesn't like about Anchorage Tavern:
Service was slow and the waitress got the drink order wrong. Two dinners came with the wrong vegetables. The boiled seafood combo was bland and tasteless. All of the fish portions were unusually small for this type of meal and price. The crab bisque was the only bright spot. With so many other restaurants in the area this will be our only visit here. We stopped in tonight late around 930 we got immediately seated we had Tammy as our waitress. She is super friendly and all the food was delicious. I even got some of their crab chowder too take home. Seriously they have the best soup in the world. Thank you so Tammy and the Anchorage Tavern.
Cozy little spot my friends and I like to visit when we're in Ocean City. It's mostly an older crowd but they have live music and we know the bartenders by name. Feels very hometown. Prices are reasonable and the food is pretty good!
Went for Mother's day. 2nd time here. I'll give it 3 stars because my youngest son and wife liked their food. My oldest son and I found it very bland. My steak was cooked medium rare as I requested but had not a bit of any type of seasoning. It just had no taste. My Manhattan Clam Chowder was the same way. Our server was very nice and did her best. Overall if be hard, pressed to come back. There are much better options, in my opinion.
So, I have a gluten allergy/celiac. We called ahead to be sure they could accommodate. I had a very hard time finding something on the menu that I would like. No indication on the menu that anything was gluten free (gf). Kinda stuck in the 80’s, menu very old. I let the server know I had a gluten allergy/celiac (so they could write it on the order) and I also didn’t want it spicy. I went with the shrimp Diablo, and asked for rice instead of linguini. Dish arrived very spicy. Two linguini noodles were found in my dish so the kitchen staff are poorly trained on allergies and cross contamination. They must have used the same ladle to dish out pasta and rice. Horrible cross contamination. I sent it back and they did make me a new dish quickly (only redeeming quality), less spicy, no noodles. Shrimp were very plain and like they were boiled though. Hope they take allergies seriously because people are lawsuit happy. Time to get into the modern world and future of allergies. I won’t be returning. I still left an extra tip for the extra work our server did. What a shame.
