When I walked across the street to visit Chomp restaurant on a Sunday afternoon, a gust of wind hit me in the face, causing me to start coughing uncontrollably. YUM and the fries were perfect! Staff was friendly and parking is easy plus the kid loved it so all around a winner! Recommended for a good bite to eat in Solvang.
Chomp has a lot of great reviews so maybe my experience was an exception. I ordered a burger and it was certainly good quality, but it was dry and overdone. I had a side of coleslaw, which had onions in it. First time ever having coleslaw with onions. Perhaps it's a California thing. I ordered a cup of clam chowder which the waitress forgot to bring. When she did bring it it was great.... Actually the best part of the meal by far. If I had it to do again I would order a bowl of clam chowder and a salad. Odd choice in a burger joint, but better than a burger and coleslaw.
The best dine in experience of our trip. We had a delicious tuna melt on rye and the pastrami sandwich on sourdough. Both sandwiches were delicious and staff was so very kind. Good atmosphere and fun oldies playing. Only complaint was the chilli cheese fries, good chilli just not for fries.
We walked in on a Saturday night at 7:00pm, the owner was working the counter and was very pleasant to talk to. When we were seated a few minutes after arriving the owner made sure the highchair for our son was clean, the waitress was friendly and the food came out quick. The burgers were cooked correctly and juice, the fries were crispy, and the milkshake was great. I’m normally not a fan of eating in solvang but this place is great.
Good food and great spot. Very accommodating. Jude our server separated our bill into 10 seperage checks. Thanks.
