Food quality is decent, though perhaps a little bland; I probably should've ordered from their Mexican food menu.
The Big Bopper combo was just okay. The meat was not seasoned well, the bun was overwhelming and it was generally bland with just mayonnaise as the only condiment. The Wester Viking burger was much better with BBQ sauce but smaller.
My family and I came here to eat while visiting Solvang. The guy who took our order seemed to be in a bad mood; he seemed bothered by us being there. Also, prepare yourself to pay for any condiments; the ranch is $1 each. The food was okay, but not the best; also, they do not serve your burgers on a plate; they put them straight on the tray, which I doubt is washed after every use. Also, the guy rounded the payment without authorization; my total was around $37, but he charged $40. It is not much if he wanted to get a tip, but it is not the right thing to do.
Atmosphere was great, staff took a while to attend me and others, I could hear them just chit chatting. No friendly greeting, just a stare. The bun was a little to big for the burger. No taste on the meat. Overall just a basic burger. Enjoyed the fries, just not the portion size.
Menu was large, may be a little too much for some but certainly enough for variety. They had 3 different menus, a little overwhelming to look over. However, the cook/cashier was very friendly, the food came out quick in about 5 minutes and it was delicious. We had 2 hamburgers and 1 carne asada taco. Hamburgers tasted fresh. The taco had a nice cook on the tortilla, carne asada was tender and juicy, onions were cooked, and the hot sauce that came with it had a deep depth of flavor and perfect level of spiciness. Went last night and we're going back today!
