The café lies in the village below the castle (Burg and there is a free public car park next door although we usually walk to it from neighbouring Glueder becau... read more The café lies in the village below the castle (Burg and there is a free public car park next door although we usually walk to it from neighbouring Glueder because we love the well organised and signposted footpaths through the forests along the valley beside the Wupper. The café is fairly small although upstairs in addition to the restaurant there is a balcony with outside seating. We have always received a warm welcome (although speaking German does definitely help! The cafe lies in Bergisches Land and one of the local dishes is Waffel with cherries (Kirschen and cream (Sahne . If you like sweet dishes then this comes highly recommended. My husband prefers savoury so he opted for the Bockwurst with potato salad. There is, of course, always a wonderful selection of cakes. From the restaurant you can look down on the pretty village of Unterburg with its half-timbered buildings. Nearby is the chair lift to the top where you can visit the castle. There are also more restaurants up there that also serve Waffeln!
