The Place To Eat - Solihull

We called into The Place to Eat situated in the John Lewis store in Touchwood for coffee and a scone, lovely cup of coffee and fruit scone,the lady assistant warmed our scones, Very nice friendly staff.

The soups we had were delicious and couldn't fault them. The bread served with it was fresh and very tasty. Although we've eaten here a few times and also in other JLs I just find The Place to Eat to be chaotic. There's always lots of Partners but the queuing and ordering systems with separate food islands just don't make sense. It's not a relaxing environment.

While the quality of food and drinks is good, this is quite an expensive option for a snack lunch while shopping in Solihull. It is also noisy as it is made up of all hard surfaces and a previous reviewer is right in commenting on uncleared tables, which give a poor impression.

The place to eat is situated in the John Lewis stare. We had been in the store looking at TV sets so it was a good place to go have a coffee and think before making a purchase. We only had a coffee that was very good nice surroundings friendly staff well worth a visit

This used to be such a great place to eat but now every time we go it seems like we have to ask for the manager because something always happens! The staff are very rude and the whole atmosphere is terrible, the staff obviously dont want to be there! The cake selection is great as its the general food, although there could be more selection, but the prices are ridiculous and there is never any clean cutlery or glasses which makes for a very frustrating time.
