Luma Taverna Del Mar Mediterranean In Playa Del Carmen

We visited this restaurant as per our TA friends recommendation for our first time and love it. Alfredo our waiter brings assorted bread to greet us. They bring us 2 pieces of raw salmon, capers and vinagreta on the house as appetizers. We choose house for drinks two local margaritas,excellent choice if you like tequila. For our dinner we order house salad , beef filet with mushrooms sauce over potatoes purée and my we wife went for pork medallions with green pepper sauce over mashed potato. For dessert we pick tiramisu and Alfredo bring limoncello and maracuyá with ginger as after dinner cordial on the house. Considering service, food quality and extras this food cost us around $100.00 dollars. We recommend this place and definitely come back while visiting Playa del Carmen. Amazing, very fresh fish! We walked past this spot a couple of times and we’re glad we stopped in for the Mezcal fish pairing. Great environment/atmosphere and friendly staff. We highly recommend!

Unlike many other restaurants in the center of Playa del Carmen, this is a real restaurant and not a tourist trap: good food, good staff and guests that care about good food. We didn’t have a reservation and just walked in, but were lucky to get the last table available. This restaurant is definitely worth visiting. As it is quite small, my advice is to make a reservation upfront. You want regret it.
