One option for non-meat eaters although the vegetable dish offered was good. The meat was chewy and after stating it to the waitress no effort was made to better the experience. The presentation of the plate was diner-like with a few lettuce that didn’t have any taste whatsoever and a poor Bernaise. For 550 crowns you can most certainly have a better experience elsewhere. I felt like I was at an upscale restaurant. The atmosphere was really nice, but the focus seemed to be on the presentation rather than the portion size. We ordered the catch of the day, which was about £30 per meal. However, the dish was small and only included a small piece of fish, a tiny serving of mashed potatoes, two small broccoli florets that seemed more like garnish, and a small piece of bread. The portion size was disappointing for the price. Additionally, the coffee was not made properly.
The staff is lovely, the service is good, and the pizza is fantastic.
The restaurant was good, with delicious food and helpful staff. We tried the whale dish and it was tasty. However, the lack of gas station nearby was disappointing, especially in a culture where people usually help each other out. Despite spending a good amount of money at the restaurant, the owner refused to let us charge our electric car because we didn't stay at the hotel. We even offered to pay for the charge, but were still denied. This felt rude and inconsiderate. Overall, we were very disappointed with the experience.
A pearl well worth a detour and stay I am very caucious about giving top reviews, maybe because my experience after forty years of travel have had my fair share of experiences, but here is one of these rare situations. The short story is: Excellent atmosphere, excellent staff, sublime food, top notch interior. For those caring to read a little bit more, the long version comes here: Arriving from the outside, the hotel looks modest, but as the automatic door opened, we entered into a sleek, modern, beautifully decorated reception and bar, which you will find at the best boutique hotels with a professional staff making all efforts to make you feel at home. No need for pictures from the room, that is absolutely correct from their website. We arrived early, and after checking in, we went for a walk in the most stunning nature you might experience anywhere in the world, and with an unmistakeable whiff of dried cod, or cod heads. Dinnertime. The menu had some standard cocktails on mentioned, but as I am a dog for dry Martinis, I asked if this was possible with a twist of lemon. And sure enough, with no previous experience, they came up with a stunning example, kudos for that, after some horrible experiences at other places the previous days. We settled for deep fried cod tongues, and what a treat, the picture says it all! The owner was around, and asked us what we have ordered. My choice was mussels and my company skin seared cod since we the day before at another place had had a good baked dried cod which had been ok. But she had the guts and managed to talk us into their version of the dish, their signature dish, and I can’t say anything that I didn’t regret a moment from the first bite. Perfectly balanced, not too salty and with veggies al dente, and homemade mashed potatoes and a pesto where I hope to have the recipe. Finally for dessert, a chocolate cream with cherries on crums, that tasted, yes, you guessed right, chocolate and cherries, an absolute treat. Summary is, this was fine dining, and in my opinion, worth the price level compared to other places which were rip offs. So don’t miss this place, either for lunch or dinner, or the weekend package. Recommended!
An option for non-meat eater, although the offered sweet food was good. the meat was baked and after the announcement of the waitress no effort was made to improve the experience. the presentation of the teller was thin with a few salat that had no taste and a bad bernaise. for 550 crowns they can have a better experience elsewhere. I would assume that the fish would be better here than he looked fresher, but in meat wise I would take off this restaurant.
