Well, first visit was Ok, good snacks for a quick breakfast. But on Sunday we nailed it, place was open as everyone now in Germany and Austria many places close to that day, we came there for a breakfast and showcase was empty and lady said we only have coffee..we will just ask why? If you're open? Just selling a coffee? Nearly no places for breakfast, but few places with a coffee.
Good and cheap snacks. Average coffee. Service with a smile if it is not overcrowded. We went to breakfast through the World Cup weekend. We felt the cashier was stressed. Couple days later, when the place was almost empty, they dug us with a smile.
The coffee was cold and my glass was chipped, I explained to the staff and they tried to pour the coffee into another glass. I explained that I was not satisfied as I thought the chip of glass might be in the coffee. To this I was rudely spoken to and ignored. The staff the shop were rude, unhelpful and I would not recommend this store if it was the only coffee shop in the Obergurgl.
Ötztal Bäck has become our tradition during the World Ski Championship weekend in the last 7 years. Probably the best coffee in Austria: hot and so delicious (they also make the latter art)! Only water is missing when you order coffee. Usually we go there early in the morning and come back after skiing or race for another cup of cappuccino fresh bread. Very good stuff and cozy atmosphere. Every year I am happy to be in Sölden and visit Ötztal bakery!
