We were really excited to try this restaurant after hearing so many great things about it. The atmosphere was lovely and well-maintained, and our waitress was very cheerful. Unfortunately, while the appetizers were enjoyable, the main courses were a huge letdown! We ordered a pastrami Reuben but received what appeared to be a Cuban sandwich instead. The ribs were tough and served in a very small portion. The turkey sandwich featured an incredibly thin slice of turkey, leaving much to be desired. On a positive note, the manager kindly waived the cost of our meals, which was the right decision. However, we did notice about five staff members smoking outside as we were leaving. They really need to concentrate on their work and put more effort into providing quality dishes!
This restaurant puts a creative spin on traditional dishes, exemplified by their Cuban sandwich. The hog cakes were particularly impressive, and the SODO Shrimp was a highlight, served with a peanut butter slaw that is an interesting and unique combination! I highly recommend trying the SODOSOPA.
I ordered takeout from this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the presentation of the food. The potato cake was fantastic, and the mac and cheese was very creamy, though it could have benefitted from a bit more cheese and flavor. The chicken was cooked to perfection, but both the meat and the crust could have used a bit more seasoning. On a positive note, the sauce that came with the meal was excellent, and I found myself using it on everything!
I visited this restaurant for dinner after a movie last weekend, marking my first experience there. On the plus side, the waitress was exceptionally friendly and attentive, and the restaurant's décor was stylish and appealing. Unfortunately, the food didn't meet our expectations. My black bean burger completely fell apart, and my son found his burger to be overly salty and overcooked. My husband’s pastrami Reuben was accidentally served to another table, despite the restaurant only being half-full, leaving us to start our meals without him. Although the manager did come over to check on us, which was a nice touch, it was evident that the kitchen could benefit from some improvement.
We chose to stop at Sodosopa for lunch on our way back to Greenville, SC, after seeing great reviews on Google. It was a fantastic decision! The food was delicious, and the free WiFi allowed us to catch up on some work. I really enjoyed the grilled cheese with potato salad, and my wife was very happy with her bacon burger. There’s plenty of seating inside, including a bar area, as well as a few outdoor tables.
