This restaurant is fantastic! I love the food, and the service is excellent. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
The experience at Manila Flavours was underwhelming. Having some familiarity with Filipino cuisine through a former partner, I was eager to try their dishes, but unfortunately, it fell short. I ordered the chicken adobo, BBQ pork, and bistek. The bistek was overly salty and lacked the bright tang of calamansi, which made it unenjoyable. The BBQ pork didn’t have the smoky, slightly sweet, caramelized flavor typical of good BBQ—it was stringy, chewy, and lacked any char, missing that classic vibrant red hue. The chicken adobo was okay but nothing special. The garlic rice stood out as the only highlight, while the lumpia was disappointing with a bland, mushy filling. Overall, the food was quite disappointing considering the price, and I probably won’t return. I hope more Filipino restaurants open in Birmingham to offer authentic dishes I can’t easily make at home. Service was average, and this was a takeaway dinner costing about £20–30.
Manila Flavours catered our birthday party in Liverpool and the experience was fantastic. The food was delicious, and the staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The party wouldn’t have been the same without their support. They offered a great variety of dishes at reasonable prices. A big thank you to Ben, Thea, and the entire team – we couldn’t have organized the party without you.
