Macari's Food Fare - Slane

Do not spend your money here. The service is terrible. We waited nearly two hours for our food to arrive and had to make two phone calls to check on it. When it finally came, it was still warm so we accepted it. The onion rings were pale, soggy, and chewy, the chips were limp, and the burger batter was tough. The only decent item was the pizza. I will never waste my money at this restaurant again. If I could, I would give it zero stars.

I recently tried the chips at this restaurant, and they were absolutely delightful. The seasoning of salt and vinegar was just right and the portion size was generous. I couldn't find any faults with them - I will definitely be returning for more and will also try one of their burgers next time. The menu looked promising as well.

The food at this restaurant is delicious, but the staff, particularly the bald man, lack the ability to handle customers. My friend and I received our food, but it was so cold that we had to sit in the car to eat. When we explained the issue to the man, he rudely took the food back and threw our money through the car window. He is incredibly impolite and lacks communication skills. We usually don't complain, but the food was inedible due to how cold it was. We will not be returning.

Be careful ordering from here. Popped in on the way home looking for just a large single of chips. Only me and another 1 person there. Waited nearly 15 minutes. Got the chips went home. Opened the bag to a tiny stingy amount of chips. Almost like a child's size or smaller. And I paid €3 for the large bag. I rang back up to complain. The two guys in the store could not give a toss. They had not a care in the world. Said he knew it was small and didn't want to put any more on. Honestly don't waste your money here. Go to Darios in coolmine. They really treat you well there.

Stopped by here and picked up a Curry Chips on the way home. Got a thoroughly miserable amount of curry sauce on a small portion of chips. Felt like driving back to them. €4.50 I should have spent elsewhere, which is what I'll be doing from now on.
