Nice rooms but quite small. No internet access in the rooms is very disapointing for the biggest hotel in town.Rooms: Clean, fonctional but very small for 3 People and no internet access ?
Friendly staff and attentive. However, Holland Princess cruise Line’s own these hotels and they are in desperate need of upgrading. Have stayed with Westmark hotels on our land portion cruise for 10 days. WiFi if you are lucky, in the main lobby only. AC good luck with that, most do not have it and you do need it! Global warming has hit here too. Rooms are stuffy, if you open the windows don’t plan on sleeping until late at night when it gets dark after 11 or Midnight until the younger crowd is finished with the eve. out, plus traffic noise. Beds, ok, but they do move off the wood base in some. Tv well bring your own Dish/Direct TV oh, wait, no WiFi. At breakfast your choice is buffet only at $22 pp or $4 for one cup coffee. Or go somewhere else (try that with a 6:00 7:00 am depart) So good side, nice people clean for an old old place.
Cracking downtown hotel in picturesque Skagway. Only downside is the lack of WiFi covering the roomsRooms: 5/5
Couldn't ask for a better location, you can literally walk here from the airport or port. Very classy feel, very fitting theme and decorations.WARNING: AC did not work, and it was hot at night during the heatwave. WIFI is spotty at best, and internet/cell reception gets better once the big boats leave for the day.Rooms: Rooms were small and had the necessary features, but were a little cramped. AC did not work, and the little fan in the room didn't do much to help. It's an old building in an old town, it is what it is.Walkability: You can walk here from the airport or port, with luggage. It's right off the main strip of town, so you pretty much have access to everything.
We are budget travelers and I have to admit this is one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in the states. Our room was on the main floor and looked out onto a alley but was quiet and really comfortable. The black out curtains were a great touch. The staff was friendly and there was free parking and many exits to get to your car without going through the lobby. The laundry room was a happy touch and the ice machine just down the hall was welcome with the heat wave we arrived during. There is no AC and being on the main floor we were reluctant to keep the windows open at night, we would have appreciated a fan. It was a very convenient location just 2 blocks from a coffee shop and the grocery store, and the whole downtown area. We loved the courtyard area and all the flower boxes.
