Trattoria Fresco - Sioux City

What a wonderful evening with my family. Staff and owners were so friendly and very prompt on the service. Food was fabulous. Truly enjoyed our meal. Best Italian restaurant in Siouxland

Very Affordable and Good Food. I highly recommend Trattoria Fresco. The location is a bit hard to find. The entrance is not well marked, and you have to enter a lobby area with a plain door to get into the restaurant. Inside, the decor is very well done. The tables are set with stemless glasses and white tablecloths. The heavy wood chairs have nice looking cushions that accent the colors around the room. The carpet and plastic plants are my only negative with the decor. The service is unique. They are caring, attentive and reasonably prompt, but they are not helpful or talkative. They do not offer a special or ask if you have questions on the menu. After you order, the food just arrives with no fan fair. However, what they deliver is very good. We tried Lasagna and Penne Vodka with Sausage. I think the reason I give this place such huge kudos is the pricing. You get white cloth tables and great tasting food at $10-15 a plate. That is very reasonable. It more than offsets the few negatives.

Why did I wait so long to try this place. My mom and I went for lunch. She had the capellini bolognese and I have the fettucine alfredo with chicken. We both practically licked our plates clean, disappointed there weren't any leftovers. It was so reasonable, $20 for the two of us. <br/ <br/ The capellini bolognese was honestly one of the best we've ever had, and that is all my mom orders. It's not a heavy sauce (think Ragu or Prego . It's a well-done light and simple tomato sauce with nice big hunks of meat. I like it even more because they use capellini (more like angel hair than spaghetti. The alfredo sauce is nice a creamy without being overly dense and heavy like most places. My ONLY thing is the alfredo could have used a little salt, but that is personal taste preference. I would also say that is some of the best alfredo I have encountered. <br/ <br/ NOTE: service can be a little slow, so if you are in a hurry just let them know and be prompt about asking for your ticket. <br/ <br/ If you haven't been here yet....GO NOW! Deliciouso!. Friends and my husband and I went to Trattoria Fresco to celebrate their 35th and our 45 wedding anniversaries respectively. The wine, lasagna and spicy shrimp pasta dishes were so delicious. Creamy buttery flan dessert is sinfully delicious. My favorite place to eat in Siouxland area. My girlfriends and I went last week. They all loved it and said they will return.

What an Italian place should be.. Walking in I got the feeling this was my Italian grandmothers place... if I had an Italian grandmother. It has a comfy atmosphere, friendly staff, and music that would make anyone homesick for Italy. The food was delicious. I had the lasagna and my wife had the ravioli. We both were wanting to lick our plates when we were finished. This is now my favorite Italian place in Siouxland.
