Was Jeremy Teng at Taliwang a mag?
4.5 stars. The food here is fantastic, and it’s surprisingly uncrowded for a Sunday evening. The char on the meat is truly exceptional! I tried the ayam, bebe, and seabass, all of which had excellent char and paired well with various chili sauces. The soup with eggplant was also quite tasty. Everything was great, but the chocolate milkshake felt a bit lackluster. The staff was friendly and helpful in explaining the menu, especially if you’re visiting for the first time.
I had an excellent experience at this restaurant. The food was great, and I believe the sauce really makes a difference. Everything was simply delicious!
Overall, the dining experience is great and cozy, but I was a bit disappointed with the Sayur Assam and the fried corn cake. The grilled chicken is tender and flavorful.
I ordered the beef rib (iga), which came with a selection of chili paste. I absolutely loved it! Just a heads up, the portion is quite large. The service was excellent, and while the restaurant is a bit small, it's very cozy. I highly recommend it!
--- **Restaurant Review** 1) **Ambiance:** The atmosphere is cozy and clean, adorned with lovely paintings. We arrived around 8:00 PM, just before 9:00 PM, and there were no other customers at the time. We absolutely adored the music—especially me. The playlist featured nostalgic, sing-along songs that we just loved! 2) **Service:** The staff welcomed us with open arms, even though we arrived near closing time. We had tried a few other restaurants before this one, but they were fully booked or about to close. Taliwang, however, graciously accepted us despite their preparations to close. We truly appreciated this kind gesture, especially since we were there to celebrate my husband’s achievement that night. 3) **Drinks:** We ordered iced Bandung and water (though they only had room temperature water available). This was actually the first time I encountered frothed Bandung, and I loved it! The rose and milk flavors were perfectly blended, making the drink delicious. 4) **Food:** I chose Bakwan Jagung for myself, as I wasn't very hungry at that time. I really enjoyed the sauce, while my husband was a big fan of the bakwan itself—it was his first time trying Bakwan Jagung, which reminded me of the ones from Bekasi, Jakarta. It was well-made, though I found the price a bit steep at $9 for a plate of bakwan. However, I understand that the location could lead to higher rent costs. My husband ordered the Wagyu cheeseburger, which included sambal, fries, and a salad on the side. We both loved it—the patty was juicy and tender. Since my husband doesn’t eat vegetables, I finished his salad, which had a delightful dressing. The portion was just right for one person. 5) **Discount Offer:** Did I mention that you get a 10% discount on your next visit if you show your receipt? You can simply take a picture of it and present it next time! Overall, we highly recommend this restaurant for its friendly service, cozy setting, and tasty food and drinks. If you're looking to try Indonesian fusion cuisine, this is definitely a spot worth exploring! --- Feel free to modify any part of this review if needed!
While exploring the Arab Street area feeling hungry and tired, I stumbled upon this authentic Indonesian restaurant through Google Maps. A special shoutout to the waitress who warmly introduced us to the various dishes at the entrance, displaying both confidence and patience despite our limited knowledge of Indonesian cuisine. She recommended several signature dishes, with a special emphasis on the grilled chicken—and it did not disappoint! The grilled chicken was cooked to perfection, making the meat succulent and tender, while the skin was wonderfully crisp, infused with the delightful aroma of charcoal. The prices were reasonable for the area, and the tempeh was delicious as well. Overall, it was a fantastic dinner that I highly recommend! Plus, you can get a 15% discount if you promote them on Instagram!
