Cosy little restaurant bar, saw the good reviews so I decided to drop by since it’s near the office. Didn’t make any reservations but manage to get seats at the bar counter. We order the fried chicken since there were so many good reviews. I would say it’s good but I would prefer it to be a bit more salty, since they marinate with soy sauce. I let will be awhile before I come back again.
Really nice steak and chicken wings. Staff is also super friendly, attentive and warm. Just take note at night it's kind of a bar/club atmosphere so a bit noisy or happening, depending on what you're in the mood for.
This place was surprising. Initially, when I entered it had very bar vibes. And with most bars.. the food is more there as a menu filler... And the stars are the drinks. So I didnt expect much We ordered the tbone steak, the salmon, the grilled chicken, sirloin and strip loin iirc... All were 8/10, which is pretty decent. The salmon was really good though. Crispy and I'm not sure what was on the mash potatoes, but it reminded me of saurkarut (my spelling sucks). Which paired very well with the salmon and mash. Steaks were definitely not Morton's or Lawry's, but definitely worth the price. The grilled chicken was marinated with tobasco sauce. Giving it a really nice zing of spicyness. Sides like the Chao ta wings and fries were excellent, and a definite must order. Kudos to the service there as well.. not stuffed up uppity service staff.. but down to earth, friendly and welcoming. Really harder and harder to come by of late.
EDIT: Returned for the same meal the following weekend by invitation of the owner and the meal was fantastic. The steaks were perfectly done and retained a good warmth. There's a smoky char taste which was great. Service was excellent and will recommend to friends. Bumped up to 5 stars! Original: Ordered a 500g T bone 200g skirt steak platter medium rare for $66 after svc. Although the steaks were cooked and served fast, the T bone tasted like it was left at room temperature for a long time. The skirt steak was lukewarm (not warm). This was strange as usually steaks would be at least warm on the surface if they just came off the grill even for 10 minutes. Due to this, the T bone did not taste pleasant texture was also a bit mushy with the fat having solidified (usually well grilled steak would have the steak rendered and soft). I also realized after leaving that the platter was not served with grilled vegetables as can be seen in the photo. But I failed to verify the menu as well. I thought it was supposed to come with grilled vegetables but I can't be sure. So unfortunately mainly due to the steak not being warm enough, I'm unable to give it a higher rating. The sides and service were great.
Food is acceptable, wine is elementary. Service is good and good range of whisky. Michael is ever so hospitable.
