What Ashi J doesn't like about Two Chefs Eating Place:
I’m sorry to give just one star. The Assam fish head isn’t as good as it used to be and has too much MSG. I'm quite disappointed with the herbal chicken soup as well. View all feedback.
Busy place on weekends but the waiting time is reasonable. Staff take your order quickly and the kitchen moves fast. Generous portions so ordering small for noodles/rice is more than enough. What to order? 1) Butter Pork ribs or Coffee Pork ribs Pricing is reasonably done around 20 or less for a large portion good enough for family of 5. 2) Horfun is alright for a staple. Or order the tofu dish with enoki for those who love to slurp up some rice with tofu. What 's not so nice... Skip the fried 'Malay ' spicy noodles...not spicy not quite tasty. Overall reasonable price and food.
Looking for a safe and clean Zi Char place, popular in the Commonwealth area? It’s Two Chef’s which has been serving their signature dishes like the milk powder pork ribs, and fish slice hor fun. Always a good crowd dining in or for take away. Menu is very wide ranging and they have just about any dish you are craving. Enjoy!
A long-time favourite for those in the neighbourhood and a little beyond. Things are way more competitive these days, with lots of choices for good tze char places, but this place has its own nostalgic charm amidst an old HDB area, and the food menu favourites still delight the tastebuds of regulars. I popped in to have a simple hotplate beancurd with rice and wasn't the least bit disappointed.
I ordered a variety of dishes: the black pepper crabs, which I would rate a 5/5; the prawn paste chicken, which I would give a 2/5; the three egg vegetable dish, rated a solid 5/5; the enoki mushroom tofu, which I think is a 4/5; and the butter pork chop, which deserves a 3/5. I also ordered 4 servings of rice. The total came to $91.
Excellent service and a well-organized zi char experience! The restaurant was busy, but we didn't have to wait long. I highly recommend trying their signature dishes, especially the curry fish head and butter pork – they are absolutely delicious!
