Wendy's - Simpsonville
Wendy's
Description
Nestled within a truck stop, this Wendy's has experienced a renaissance, transforming into a surprising haven for travelers. Many diners commend the cleanliness and efficiency of the staff, with some even calling it the best fast food service they’ve encountered. While food quality varies—ranging from fresh, crispy fries to occasional mix-ups with orders—it generally garners praise, particularly for dishes like the hot honey chicken sandwich and pineapple mango lemonade. However, inconsistency in hours and occasional rudeness from staff detracts from the experience. Overall, this location seems poised to impress with its growing reputation among road-weary patrons.

Feedback
This restaurant used to be a questionable choice for a late-night meal, where the food quality was often questionable. However, recent improvements have made a noticeable difference. I visited at 8 o'clock two nights ago and was pleasantly surprised by the delicious Wendy's meal I received. The fries were hot and crispy, and the Junior Bacon Cheeseburger looked like it came straight out of a commercial. The lettuce and tomato were fresh and vibrant. I was so impressed that I called the restaurant from the gas pump outside to express my satisfaction. Keep up the good work!
As a truck driver passing through, I stopped at this restaurant to order a meal. I specifically requested 2 Junior Bacon Cheeseburgers without mayonnaise. However, when I got down the road and was ready to eat, I discovered that the burgers had mayo on them. I had to throw them out the window in frustration because they were made incorrectly. I'm upset that I wasted money on food that was not made according to my instructions. It seems like the staff are not paying attention to the orders on the screen, which could potentially make someone sick while on the road. Overall, the service was for takeout.
Change your business hours online if you’re going to close an hour and a half before it says you’re supposed to. Pointless to be a restaurant in a travel center that closes early
It has been two years since my last review, and unfortunately, I have to drop my rating from two stars to just one. The Wendy's in this pilot no longer stays open 24 hours; they now close at 10 PM every day. Not only are they severely understaffed, but the staff also seems underqualified. I stopped by for a simple, quick order: six chicken nuggets and a junior fry. How can it be so difficult to get nuggets right? They came out of the fryer looking like they had just barely been cooked; it was as if they didn't spend enough time in the oil. The fries, on the other hand, were definitely overcooked and quite crunchy. Upon getting back to my truck, I opened the bag to find the nuggets were somewhat cold and unappetizing, while the fries were burnt. I was so disgusted that I didn't even bother taking a picture. It was also concerning to see other customers waiting a long time for their orders, served by what appeared to be a disorganized staff. For future meals, I think I’ll stick with McDonald's or Subway, which are 13 miles back at Love's in Waddy, or the Burger King just north of Louisville in Memphis, Indiana. Both locations offer a much better experience. Overall, my visit to this Wendy's was disappointing and unenjoyable. I hope I don’t end up feeling sick from what I ate; it was cooked, but it certainly wasn’t cooked well.
