eating was very good. a little expensive. when we finished dinner, we met a conversation with a neighbour and we were asked to leave the waitress. She said the owner wants us to go because they wanted the table. I spent good money and felt that I was treated rudely. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Tamarindo Latin Cuisine:
sampler plate: planents soft and not fritted to this cripple I prefer. the used was unknown to me and I didn't care. and no really spicy sauce, except tabasco, which I didn't really add the plate. patelitos: more tasteless. perhaps more of a Argentina style of empanada. I'm used to eat more Colombian style of kitchen and given that this place really tries to call himself Dominican, perhaps this is simply the differen... View all feedback.
We had abysmal service but decent food (when it finally arrived, sporadically, and even then one dish taken away as it wasn’t supposed to have been delivered). An expected nice family meal was instead frustrating and disappointing. We won’t come back. If you want service you won’t get good service here. Two drinks were delivered quickly, while the other two sat on the bar for 10 minutes while the waitress chatted with her friends. We ordered Paella and it was delivered quickly. We had a taste and they then took it away, saying it was for someone else. They took it back to the kitchen and delivered it to another table one minute later. Then we waited 35 more minutes for our food to arrive while our server ignored us before bringing dinner. And despite having four people she tried to get a mandatory “large party” 18% tip automatically added. When I heard our waitress complaining about us in Spanish to her friends, that was it. Yes, I understood what you said. No, I won’t tolerate it.
I had been there a few times and it is always very good food. This time they were out of the ceviche appetizer, the paella and even the Pinot Grigio. So we had the shrimper skewer appetizer, the grouper and the snapper entrees. All was very good. But the missing menu items together with slow service was a bit a set back.
This bums me out to even write but having been on the hospitality business myself I always think about putting myself in the other person‘s shoes… But this one really just had to be written, my husband, and I after a long, two weeks with our five and two-year-old and traveling to Boston and having no family in town with all the daycare is being closed due to Christmas break we were due for a couple hours to have a nice meal and conversation with no kids and it was my birthday. After doing a lot of research I was so excited to try this place out because I thought it looked adorable and it was an awesome addition to downtown Simpsonville and the menu looked amazing. When we arrived, it was so cute and we were seated right away which was awesome. We came for the steaks and the chimichurri sauce and the grilled octopus and as soon as we sat down and we’re asking our server questions, he let us know the New York strip, and the ribeye weren’t available. Neither was the octopus. He also said it was an old menu and sometimes they slipped in with the new ones. Again, this is why we came here. Then our appetizer came, but our second one never did so after about 25 minutes of waiting our server let us know that the fryer was down and that’s why I was taking so long- all he had to do was let us know, and we would’ve been more understanding instead of wondering where the heck our appetizers were. Then our entrées came out and my husband ordered a skirt steak with chimichirri sauce but there was no chimichurri sauce in sight. Our server then said oh yeah we’re out of chimichurri sauce….It took us a good 20 minutes to get a refill, then after eating both of our entrées, our second appetizer finally came out. 85 overall for a 3/10 meal and service expe I feel like this place won’t last long if they can’t up their game which is sad bc there is potential, I think they don’t keep steaks/fish in stock due to cost but that’s what brings people in so to be out is unacceptable
My family enjoyed the authentic taste and variety, thank you for bringing us back to Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean in one meal
Very nice atmosphere with plenty of energy from the staff and people. We loved our service from Moriah, she was fun, knew the menu, gave great advice as to what to order and always had a great smile and personality. Food was good and plenty for the value. Will definitely be back soon!
