Churrasqueira Valdemar - Silves

Visited here again. It is in a different spot to last time due to refurbishment of the market building. Had the normal menu of the day. Salad, bread and spreads. Olives. A drink. Chicken piri piri and chips. Lovely .

We had to wait a while for our freshly cooked chicken no problem. they were very busy on a Monday lunch time, that is great for these businesses these days! The piri-piri chicken was just great, spicy but not in flames and very juicy....Good, honest and reasonable food, that is one of the many things we like in Portugal.

I had a sit in dinner alone at this makeshift restaurant this autumn after hearing people raving about it time and again. So I finally visited and ordered their piri chicken with fries and a salad. NOTHING ELSE. I was charged I’d add that...the chicken, although tasty, seemed quite lean and bony rather than meaty. Surely that can’t be right when another poster who visited this autumn commented on paying only for TWO portions of piri chicken, fries, salad, including bread, olives, fruit, drinks! Other reviews also point to ordering a variety of things for a modest cost. Churrasqueira Valdemar, can you explain this noticeable difference in price please? I’m happy to reconsider my review if you provide plausible reason.

Loved this place. Popped in for lunch , a simple but tasty menu and really well priced. Despite being very busy staff were helpful and engaging. Youngest remarked that it was the best grilled chicken he had ever had. Would be hard to disagree!

For portions of ½ chicken, fairly large mixed salad, olives, bread, chips, little bit of fruit, coffee, is quite incredible, as is for a litre of very acceptable red wine. It was very busy. Many people seemed to have arrived before the...supposed opening. Our chicken was not the best we have had, being apparently mostly thigh, though it was difficult see as there was not too much light. I would not mind paying an extra Euros per portion to have more chicken breast. Our neighbour also commented that it was not particularly spicy, and we would agree. It was friendly and we got into conversation with people at the tables on either side. Service was very efficient.
